Sign-In
Our classrooms are open to children 15 minutes before each service. Each child must be completely signed in before entering the room. This includes:

Paging System
If your child should need you or if your child’s teacher needs to contact you, your pager will be buzzed. Parents, we ask that you keep the pager clipped onto your clothing so you are able to feel a paging. If your child is inconsolable, we will alert you.

Visitors
First-time visitors must fill out a welcome sheet. This information will be use in case of an emergency, to mail home information, and to inform the child’s teacher of any allergies or special needs.

Entering the Classroom

For the safety of the children we ask that parents do not enter the classroom when dropping off or picking up their child.

Room Clean-up Procedures
At the end of each service the classroom teachers…

     ·  Wash and Bleach all toys that have been put into mouths

     ·   Bleach large toys, climbing areas, and tables

     ·   Bleach the toilet and sink in the bathroom

Diapering Procedures
Please make sure that your child has been changed before entering the classroom. Children will be changed when necessary. Teachers wear gloves while changing your child. After each diaper change, the changing table is cleaned with bleach and teachers wash their hands. Please provide diapers and wipes.

Restroom Procedures and Potty Training
Please make sure that your child has used the restroom before entering the classroom. If your child needs to use the restroom while in class they will use the bathrooms in between our children’s classrooms. Workers will only enter the restroom to assist a child when absolutely necessary. If your child is potty training please send your child with a change of clothes.

We provide animal crackers, pretzels, Cheerios, graham crackers, and water. If a special snack is provided parents will be notified. Please inform teachers of any allergies your child has.

Promotions
Children will be promoted on the first Sunday in July.

Mountaineers 1st through 5th grade

Exciting things are happening in our Sunday mornings children’s ministry. First through fifth graders now start Sunday mornings together in room 201 with a short time of fun and board games, which allows our teachers and helpers to build relationships with your children; followed by a time of large group worship through song. This high energy time is designed to introduce them to corporate worship and praising God through singing. After this they will be given an interactive lesson where they can read the bible, participate in illustrative activities, and be taught from God’s word. We will then divide your children, according to grade, into small groups according to grade of about eight students for “table time”. During this time teachers will review the lesson, do a craft/activity and teach a memory verse. Your children will be given an opportunity to earn “bucks” for bringing their bibles and/or friends, and reciting their memory verses. They will be able to spend their “bucks” at our store-buck shop!

Each of the activities are focused on different important aspects of growth and development. We have pinpointed these aspects to be: building relationships with your children, teaching them God’s word, introducing them to worship, and showing them Christ’s love! This new format is in line with the church’s philosophy of children First grade and up spending one hour – whether 9:30am or 11:00am – in the children’s ministry and one hour in service with their parent/guardian, if the child is on campus for two hours. We strongly encourage this format so that children are introduced to corporate worship with their families and for the functionality of the children’s ministry. We also realize that due to the changing numbers in each age group we will need to make slight modifications from year to year to better minister to your children and maneuver through space issues.
