Ministerial Staff:

Bob Gallina
Senior Pastor

Pastor Bob Gallina became Senior Pastor at Green Hills in July of 1998.  He and his wife Melanee came to California from Bellevue Baptist Church in Tennessee.  As a 13-year old boy in a Life Action Revival meeting, Bob became acquainted with Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.  It was while attending Christian Heritage College in San Diego that Bob first felt God’s call into the ministry.

Soon after graduating from Christian Heritage, Bob enrolled in Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee to begin preparing for ministry.  Mid-America’s relationship with Bellevue Baptist Church led to Bob’s becoming an intern at Bellevue.  Following the conclusion of his seminary education, Bob became a staff member at Bellevue.  During his ten years on staff at Bellevue, Bob held many ministry positions, starting in Single Adult Ministry, and later ministering through New Members Ministry, church growth responsibilities, family programming responsibilities, and adult ministries.

It was in 1995 that Bob began to see God developing in him the ability to have a greater public ministry of teaching God’s word.  In 1996, he began pursuing this redirection in his life, and two years later, God led him to become pastor of Green Hills Baptist Church.  God has greatly blessed our church during the past few years of Pastor Bob’s ministry here.  Pastor Bob received his Doctor of Ministry at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 2004.  He and his wife Melanee have three daughters.

Jamie Barr
Associate Pastor

Jamie and Barbara Barr have been on staff at Green Hills Baptist Church since June 1992.  Jamie graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a BA in zoology in 1967; in 1970 he graduated with a MS in microbiology from California State University, Long Beach.  He worked for 10 years in genetic disease research at City of Hope National Medical Center.  While at UCSB, Jamie met Barbara, and they were married August 30, 1968.  Barbara graduated from Long Beach in 1969 and began a career in public school education.  She currently is SIP/Title 1 Coordinator at Las Positas Elementary School in La Habra.

As a newly married couple, the Barrs began to work with the youth group in their church.  Jamie eventually became the high school pastor while still working at City of Hope.  It was during this time of volunteer ministry that they begin to feel the Lord leading Jamie to make a career change.  In 1976 he left his career in research to go back to school to prepare for vocational ministry.  In 1979, he graduated from Talbot Seminary with a Master’s degree in Christian Education.  Prior to coming to Green Hills, Jamie & Barb served in youth ministry for fourteen years.

Currently, Jamie is responsible for overseeing special events  at Green Hills as well as the children’s ministry, pastoral care, and administrative responsibilities.  Jamie & Barb have two married children, Kristin Wooley and James Barr; and are the proud grandparents of five grandchildren.

Pete Ramirez
Associate Pastor of Evangelism & Discipleship

Pete became part of the Green Hills staff in 2006.   However, his church work in this community began much earlier – as Pete has lived most of his life in Pico Rivera and Whittier. He was ordained by Green Hills in 2007.  He has been involved in various ministry roles such as serving as a youth worker for 11 years at First Bilingual Baptist church in Pico Rivera, serving as a Southern Baptist summer missionary; directing summer camps, ministering as a youth pastor, interim pastor; and for three years  as as  the pastor of El Buen Camino Baptist Church in La Habra.

Pete is passionate about people, and has a heart to reach the lost for Jesus Christ. His passion for God's Word and his fluency in both English and Spanish have opened doors for preaching and teaching opportunities in many venues at various Southern Baptist camps and conferences.  He is instrumental in helping us reach the un-churched and disciple them to become mature believers in Christ.  Pete's focus is in two areas: He helps lead us to more effectively reach young adults (18-39 years old) for Christ and incorporate them into the life and ministry of Green Hills.  In addition, he leads our church in developing an effective outreach to our community surrounding GHBC.

Pete has a degree in Organizational Leadership from Biola University and is currently enrolled at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary.  Pete and Anabella were married in 1993 and have been blessed with 2 daughters, Christina, and Suzan.

Sarah Graham
Director of Worship Ministries

Green Hills has been an integral part of Sarah’s life both as member and an employee.  Sarah Graham has been on staff since June of 2001 initially, helping develop the music ministry for our contemporary service.  With the church growth, Sarah’s focus has been overseeing and leading all areas of the music and media ministry including our three weekly worship services.

While being involved in the youth program as a teen, Sarah began to feel God calling her to full-time ministry.  Upon graduation from La Habra high school Sarah attended Azusa Pacific University and studied Music.  Sarah worked as a worship leader at two other local churches prior to returning home to Green Hills.

Sarah is married to Josh Graham who she met in the high school program at GHBC.  They have a daughter and son. Sarah and Josh feel fortunate to continue to have the ministry of Green Hills interwoven in their lives.
